This is one of the most time consuming
kits I've ever built! Of course it doesn't help that the quality of the
kit is crap; brought from the same seller as Luna,
this kit is cast in the same garbage polystone. Took a lot of time to prepare
the surface.
I haven't seen Black Cat Mansion myself but allegedly this guy bumped into
this big mansion that has a black cat, and the 3 sisters living inside the
mansion were longing for a man... well you know the rest. It's one of the
old Cream Lemon H anime. I guess you can figure it out, the middle one is
the big sis, left 2nd and right 3rd. I'm a sucker for multi-character kits,
so I bought this kit.

Kit
Review
Seam lines: 3/5 Pinholes:
3/5 Casting: 1/5 Fit: 3/5 Part
Break: 5/5 Help
Though in a crappy resin, the fit of the
kit is acceptable. The kit includes a wine-glass holding hand for the big
sis or this beckoning hand. The solid-cast wine-glass doesn't look good
at all, so I picked the beckoning hand. The black thing on the extreme right
is da black cat. |

Building
I finished in the order 2nd, 3rd and
big sis, in the order of how I like the character. I somehow decided to
not mask anything at all, so some of the details such as the ribbon was
painted in with acrylics, and the stockings and lingerie were painted with
oil. The the little sis's white stockings were painted entirely with oil,
and it works pretty well. The other sis's stockings were painted with clear
Gunze colors. You can get clear brown from mixing orange and smoke, and
purple, well, the obvious red and blue. I added some drying agent from Grumbacher
and man this thing dries fast! Probably because I added too much. I got
something like a gloss enamel when I mix drying agnet with mineral spirits
and oil, except I could still blend in about an hour or so.
In retrospect I should assemble the big sis before the little sis, because
the big sis's left hand rests on the shoulder of the little sis, on top
of which is the hair piece of the little sis. I mistakenly glued in the
hair piece first, so I had to take the hair piece off again when I mount
all the 3 figures. The stupid plastic breaks right in the middle of the hair
piece, so I had to fix that.
I searched for days to look for a suitable material that the 3 sisters can
lay on. I always thought it's a dream-like fluffy carpet, and finally I
found some discount santa hats after new year, and the white area is the
perfect match of what I had in mind! Now we have something that resembles
a Victoria Secret commercial... :) |
