Chuck himself isn’t half-interesting, but the whole diorama is. Got this off Hannants when they were on sale - what a steal! The whole set costs only 2.5 normal figures when on sale. The girls are, from the front, Chantal, Dale, and Mary Lou. |

Chuck comes with lots of options. He has 3 heads, this normal guard head, a cowboy-hat head, and an “bald evil-grin man” head. The latter is just too cartoony. He also has 2 right hands, one in open palm, and one pointed index finger; and 2 left hands, one holding a stick, and one holding a p*ick. Finally his fly can be opened or closed… disgusting…Chantal: the sculpture itself is not that great. There are two heads, one gagged and one not, but the non-gagged head is kind of ugly, and I don’t like big masks on the girl’s head since you can’t see her facial features, as in this case. So I used one of the spare heads from Dulcima, with some modification. The head mostly fits, and doesn’t look too out of place. Her navel is also too high; I lowered it a bit, but doesn’t help much. I like Dale and Mary Lou better. |
BuildingThe chains are rather difficult to work with, and they are chrome while I want blacked chains. So I did the stupid thing of dipping the entire chain in gunmetal paint and sure it’s black, but it was really messy and the paint was all over the place. Someone suggested using a solution called “blacken it” to blacken the chains, I should try that next. Chantal was coated with Krylon matte finish; this thing isn’t dead flat, but neither is human skin, so it looks like a good match.
It’s quite a bit of work to chain everyone together, and putty up the junctions between base. I hope to put them in some slightly larger diorama later, so the bases are joined together with an ugly brass plate underneath. |
