Kit Review

Seam lines: 3/5   Pinholes: 3/5   Casting: 3/5   Fit: 2/5   Part Break: 5/5   Help

There's quite a lot of pinholes on the kit. The kit requires major test fitting since the body, right leg and right hand has to be in sync. The legs proves to be major hassle and they don't fit at all to the body, and I had to do a lot of putty work.

Building

This is a rather difficult kit to build due to the fitting problem above, and a lot of very delicate pinning is required to keep the chair in shape and on the carpet - you have to pin the chair on the carpet since there's almost no contact between the two.

I thought the carpet was difficult to paint since it requires a lot of masking, but I eventually ended up handbrushing and it was much easier. With the custom micron I can do very detailed shading with airbrush and get a smoother skintone. Oil is great, but as I mentioned a lot in other build ups, if you have an uneven surface which is often the case with cast pewter, blending can be very frustrating.
