| BuildingThis is one of the smoothest kit I’ve built! It takes about 36 hours in total I think.
It could take even less, except I tried using putty to fill seams this time (usually I just scratch the seam off) with not much success; the Tamiya putty I use probably isn’t very suitable, being too soft and dissolved a little bit on the mr. surfacer spray I put on for primer. So back to the scratching seams and reprime, and paint! I use a rather light skin tone color this time and I think I finally got the anime skin color! The kit doesn’t have a lot of surface and so painting is a breeze. I’m pretty happy with how this kit turns out, excep the yellow swimsuit matches the skin color too closely, so the kit doesn’t have too much contrast, but again my tendency to follow what’s on the box prevents me from picking a more suitable color scheme.
Of these two swimsuit kits (Ayanami and Asuka), I originally like Asuka better (perhaps because her pose is more H But after building them I think I like Ayanami better now. |
