I guess "happier" might be a better description  It could have had a much more grim ending where Saya kills the two babies, Haji kills Saya per her request, then ends up killing himself, etc. etc. I'm glad that they didn't choose to do it that way. It might not be a perfect ending, but after seeing so many crappy endings lately, this one turned out much better than I thought it would. I was kinda hoping that Solomon would survive too, but oh well :???:

*spoilers*

Somehow I didn't feel the ending is a happy one - it seems the plot just goes towards the inevitable (Saya goes back to sleep), without any unnecessary deaths. I thought they couldn't really kill any of the Red Shield members or the Omoro reunion wouldn't work too well. And Kai had to do the last task of putting Saya to bed. Then, there's no way Haji would've died, it just took him a really loooong time to regenerate ;) The nice thing is that I think the "final" goodbye between Haji and Saya still works even though you know Haji wouldn't die. It's a sweet goodbye between them for this waking period.

It'd probably be happier if Solomon and Haji both survived to the final scene, but that really doesn't work does it

I guess I'll drop some random thoughts as well since I didn't write it down last night -

- I thought the ending animation for the 4th ending gave too much away; the two young Saya/Diva cross the road picture tells you the twins will survive.

- Just when I got addicted to the 3rd opening (which took a while, but the song and the animation meshes really well), they brought in the very mediocre 4th opening. I miss the very well-choreographed Season's Call and Colors of the Heart!

It's hard to believe that its over already  For all the blood and gore that this series had, I was pleasantly surprised that they chose to end this series on a "happy" note. All the hints for a "Blood++" series made me smile a bit too.
