With a combination of less-than-stellar quality of my rotary tool and my abusive treatment of it, the flex shaft snapped into halves. The shaft was enclosed in a plastic hose protected by springs on the outside, but I was running it for too long and the hose melted 🙁 I don’t know if I find a replacement for it. Just when I was getting the hang of it, yikes…

Hey thanks so much! I think I'll do ok since the seller is kind enough to send me a replacement. In the mean time I should really read up on what NOT to do with the flexshaft - like loading them with high resistant attachments and leaving them on for prolonged periods :???:
