Well another FB group I left (The Panzer Page, TPP for short). The group may be a bit more advanced than the “Mediocre modeler” group but with FB you still get a mix of random people there. The latest thread that caused my self-ejection is this discussion where a person posted some PE handles for… Continue reading On calling a spade a spade

I write this more for my own benefits since I often don’t remember 🙂 Continental Model & Toys (Yau Ma Tei): An incredible place for armor modelers, it has kits piled up in walls that you can’t get through 🙂 This established shop (and its online presence Sincere Hobby) has amongst my visits the best… Continue reading Buying models from Hong Kong

I was checking up on my ancient FAQ which is mostly out of date, and thought I might say something about buying models from Japan. As mentioned in my previous post, a lot of the regular kits can be gotten from HLJ or BanziHobby. There are also 1999 which painstakingly scanned all the manual pictures… Continue reading Buying kits from Japan: reviews of Tenso, From Japan and ZenMarket

I was making a photobook for my parents. I had used Blurb and MyPublisher before, and although both were decent, I simply can’t understand why everybody fails in one way or another. My last book was done with MyPublisher. It always has some big sales, and with those sales the books become quite reasonably priced… Continue reading MyPublisher/Shutterfly/Mixbook/Blurb photobook experience

Unfortunately for my idle kits, I’ve been messing around too much with cameras! I’ve recently picked up photography; with all the travelling, it’s really a waste not to take some images that can be savored 🙂 You can check out some of my recent stuff at http://ctkwok.smugmug.com/. I am mainly interested in taking wildlife images,… Continue reading Hobb(ies)

One thing I noticed while testing my pages on Firefox vs. IE is that the page transitions much smoother. My pages are templatized by WordPress, aren’t using frames. In IE it loads by refreshing the whole page. But in Firefox, it seems to cache the parts of the pages that don’t change, and only refresh… Continue reading Firefox-y!
