This is my second Dragon kit, since I was really happy with my build of the unreviewed Tiger I 131. The subject isn’t my top choice in terms of coolness, but I got the kit on sale for about $18 so I thought it’s another good kit to practice armor on. This particular vehicle is… Continue reading Build review: Dragon 6792 / DML 6792 1/35 scale Panzerbeobachtungwagen III Ausf. F(Sd. Kfz. 143)

Build review: 1/35 HobbyBoss German Sd.Kfz.182 King Tiger “Porsche Turret” w/ Zimmerit 84530
Hot on the wheels of their Tiger I with Zimmerit comes the HobbyBoss King Tiger in Porsche turrent (yes the Tiger I is Trumpeter’s but they are the same company now, not sure what logic they use to decide which label gets to release a particular kit…). There is some sort of market acquisition thing… Continue reading Build review: 1/35 HobbyBoss German Sd.Kfz.182 King Tiger “Porsche Turret” w/ Zimmerit 84530
Panther ausf. D 1/35 from Tamiya
It’s the year of the Panther, so this is my second after the Meng’s Panther A. I have built a few Shermans from Tamiya but I think this is the first time I build their German armor. After the Meng experience I can safely say that the Tamiya was really easier, with no loss in… Continue reading Panther ausf. D 1/35 from Tamiya
1/35 Tamiya Sd.Kfz.184 Schwerer Jagdpanzer “Elefant” with ATAK Zimmerit
I started this kit way before the Panther A. Tamiya kits are famous for their engineering and the Elefant is not an exception. As a tank destroyer I like the heavy-look of the design and the lack of a turrent seem to simplify construction which I thought could be a good beginner armor kit to… Continue reading 1/35 Tamiya Sd.Kfz.184 Schwerer Jagdpanzer “Elefant” with ATAK Zimmerit
Black or white? Panther A from Meng again
It seems in the armor modeling world people uses white background for photos. So I re-shot the Panther A’s with white and see if it looks more like something that is more commonly accepted 🙂 I guess one issue is the tanks are often dark colored, so it’s a little hard to make it pop.
Hasegawa 1/48 AH-64A Apache
Apache has been called ugly but I like it a lot. It has that pretty aggressive look and my gaming has brought me to appreciate its firepower. It’s my type of machine 🙂 This was a new kit when I bought it but is now pretty old. Still it sets the standard for this bird… Continue reading Hasegawa 1/48 AH-64A Apache
Flakpanzer Gepard A2 1:35 from Meng
Of all the tanks the Gepard has a special place in my heart. The twin cannons and the dome range finder plus the radar all gives it that advanced look, particularly in the 80s. This is probably the tank that got me back into armor! I have built the Tamiya Gepard twice before I think,… Continue reading Flakpanzer Gepard A2 1:35 from Meng
Panther ausf. A. 1/35 Meng
The first of a few armor models that I’ve been doing. Honestly I was more of a modern armor fan than WW2 German, and I had trouble understanding the appeal of it. But as I grew to understand a bit more about the space it seems to have a few things going for it: first,… Continue reading Panther ausf. A. 1/35 Meng
1:16 Tamiya M1A2 Abrams RC Full Option Kit
I was never much of an RC guy but I purchased a Tamiya 1:16 M4 Sherman when I bought my house cos I thought it’s big and could make a nice display. Last month I’ve finally gotten the wits to go through the build process and I just fell in love with it! I love… Continue reading 1:16 Tamiya M1A2 Abrams RC Full Option Kit
And now for something completely different – M1114 Up Armored HA Tractical Vehicle from Bronco
Everytime I go into a Macross building frenzy, I ended up wanting to build more non-scifi models, i.e. armor and planes, most likely due to the lure of details. I built some tanks when I was young, but I think I really have an affinity for them even after all the gunpla.I actually have an… Continue reading And now for something completely different – M1114 Up Armored HA Tractical Vehicle from Bronco
