More WIP!

September 7, 2010 on 10:05 pm | In Models

Haha… did some detailing on the swimsuits, and giving some definitions to the bubbles via a clear blue showing through the acrylic base bottom.

Also playing with my flash and lighting setup… now that I have slightly more idea what I’m doing, it’s actually fun ;)

WIP!

September 6, 2010 on 12:53 pm | In Models, WIP

OMG is it a figure update?!

Taking a breather from my sabbatical (that doesn’t sound right…), I’m finding some time to wrap up some of the kits I’ve been working on FOREVER. First up is this set of 3 Keiko girls – Holiday, Yasumi and Suzumi in swimsuit. Originally I had them organized in a floating cloud sort of set up and have them transformed into angels with wings, but now I wanna try a bubble bath instead. Click to enlarge.

I’ll need to do something about the bubbles so that they look more interesting, perhaps a bottom layer of clear blue. And the girls will be holding colored bubbles as well. I like the white swimsuits but they do need some details, otherwise the kit seems a little boring.

One thing that seems different after all this time, is that I seem to be more careful in handling parts, haha.

Loooooooong time no updates!

December 3, 2009 on 7:09 pm | In Models

It’s been more than a while since my last update (actually exactly a year!), but now that I’ve almost rebuilt my modeling space, I can finally finish some kits (rather than snapping them together and admire :) ) I bought a cheaper compressor than my SilentAire that I used in the states, it was giving me some grief early on with dust collecting in the brush, but now I’ve fixed it and could do some real painting.

Unfortunately I’m still strapped of time for modeling… other things in life take priorities (like planning a trip to Antaractica…). Also I’ve found that there just aren’t that many inspiring figure kits, and my interests in figures has dropped significantly. I still have my backlog of figure kits (like my grail Berserk kits), but I’d be very lucky to finish them… haha.

Now to satisfy my appetite for finishing kits, I’m mostly doing gunplas. Perhaps when I get back into the flow of modeling, I’ll probably start again on more ambitious projects…

Stranded!

December 3, 2008 on 9:36 am | In Models

It’s been a while since I posted but I’ve been busy traveling and working… anyway nothing noteworthy on the kit front worth mentioning, except I tried taking my airbrushes (dear Iwatas) on a hand-carry to board a plane, only to have it stopped at the customs and sent back into the storage cabinet, then lost in transition! I guess I’ll be out of action for a while.

A man’s fight is a man’s fight is a grail kit

July 5, 2008 on 8:17 pm | In Models, Works

Grail kit #2 is “Otoko no Tatakai” depicting the fight between Zeruel and Shogoki. This scene in Evangelion’s Ep 19 was a relatively obscure kit by Musashiya back in the days. I love its dynamism and its symbolism :)

May be I can still crank out one or two kits before hibernation… ganbatte ne!!

Protect Gear’s Midori Washio

Yup, can’t have Chuichi without Midori! Another Takara’s figure repaint.

Another Fine Molds Star Wars creation…

X-Wing… so that the Millennium Falcon won’t be so lonely…

Attack of the grail kit part 8 (final)

June 29, 2008 on 9:01 pm | In Models, Venus, Works

Cranking it!

After being in suspended animation for almost a year, I’ve finally done the touch up required to finish up this grail kit of mine, Silent Moebius Venus Plaque. Enjoy :) (nudity alert)

And one more… Millennium Falcon

June 23, 2008 on 11:15 pm | In Models, Works

This awesome Millennium Falcon is really a very satisfying build… the crazy amount of details just gives you a sense of accomplishment! (or makes you realize how much life has been wasted on it …).

Blurb will come later…

Bah finally got Destiny up…

June 23, 2008 on 11:08 pm | In Models, Works

I’ll write some blurb about the kit later, but I’ve finally gathered up enough will to take pics of this Destiny conversion by Vicious Project. I finished this dude last year, but for some reason was a bit weary of doing a photo shoot of it. Anyway here we go.
